Having been in the throes of Social Media Marketing classes, I am starting to look at businesses in a whole new light. I just went to a local medical supply store yesterday. Now I am sure most of their business comes from prescriptions and maybe even nursing homes. But this is an area with a lot of seniors and athletes who need medical equipment and will go somewhere to find it. This business could be vastly improved by training the staff to be more customer-service oriented. One of the staff looked so tired I was going to suggest she take a nap. She clearly was not at all interested in the business. They could have more stock (I needed compression stockings and they only had one pair in my size). The one person who helped me was very helpful, it has to be said. But they have done nothing to present products and provide an environment where customers could learn about medical products that could help them.
